With the Reliable IronMaven J490A Steam Iron Station, dry pressurized steam is the secret. This gets the steam into the fabric faster so your ironing time is cut in half. Steam is used to soften the fibers, and the weight of the iron shapes the fabric. The IronMaven J490A Steam Iron is equipped with an anti-calc warning system. In a few short steps, you can program the boiler for the hardness of water that you are using (litmus paper is supplied) and the system will automatically tell you when it is time to use the de-scaling powder that is supplied.

The IronMaven J490A is easy to use, and easy to refill. The IronMaven J490A uses the newest, most advanced version of the CSS (continuous steam system) technology.
Easy to use panel.
The control panel on the IronMaven J490A gives you all the control you need at your fingertips. The panels functions include a simple programmer for the anti-calc warning system, a knob to control the amount of steam you need for your ironing task, power switches for the boiler and iron, a low water indicator to tell you its time to refill the tank, and a power on/off indicator light.
Easy to clean.
The IronMaven J490A is equipped with a unique anti-calc warning system that tells you when it is time to clean the steam tank. Each unit is supplied with two strips of litmus paper so you can check the hardness of your water. You can program into the control panel the hardness of your water. When it's time to clean, the unit will beep, indicating that it is time to follow the cleaning instructions (see owners manual).
Professional cork handle.
The IronMaven J490A comes standard with a professional quality cork handle iron. Cork is still the natural choice because of its resistance to heat and longevity. The iron on the IronMaven J490A is also equipped with a locking mechanism for the steam activation button. This is a handy feature when you want to use your iron as a fabric steamer (vertical steaming).
